Dr. John Athans, a native of the Buffalo area, has been in practice for approximately 29 years. He attended St. Bonaventure University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduating in 1989, he pursued specialty training in a dental oncology residency at Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.
He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Eighth District Dental Society and Erie County Dental Society and has served in the past as President of the Erie County Dental Society as well.
Dr. Athans enjoys building meaningful and lasting relationships with his patients. Using advanced technology and the latest dental techniques he works to create a personalized dental experience for each individual patient.
Dr. Athans is skilled in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. He offers Smart Moves™ Clear Aligner System (orthodontics), dental implants from start to finish, and Cerec™ same day porcelain crowns.
His new, state of the art dental facility located at 8840 Transit Road, East Amherst, NY offers current and modern dental technology allowing Transit Valley Dental Care to provide a wide range of dental health care to the entire family.
Dr. Athans is married and has three children. He enjoys playing golf, watching Buffalo Bills football, music, walking, riding his bicycle and family time.
